Bram Stoker (1847-1912) is the author of the novel Dracula (1897). This volume features a selection of Stoker's writings. The centerpiece of the book is Dracula, which follows Jonathan Harker as he ventures to Castle Dracula in the wilds of Transylvania, leading to a conclusion in which the count is pursued and destroyed. In addition, this volume includes the novel The Jewel of Seven Stars (1903), a story involving a scholar who attempts the magical resurrection of a mummified pharaoh-queen. Also included are the short stories “The Judge’s House,” “The Squaw,” “The Burial of the Rats,” and “Dracula’s Guest,” which was originally designed as the second chapter of Dracula.
