Harry Madox, a drifter and small-time criminal, arrives in a small Texas town and takes a job at a local car dealership. He soon becomes entangled in a dangerous web of deceit, blackmail, and arson as he manipulates the people around him, including the dealership owner's wife and a young woman named Gloria. His schemes spiral out of control, forcing him to confront the violent consequences of his actions.
