Shy, soft-hearted Charlie Spring is in his first year at Truham Grammar School. When he's seated next to Nick Nelson, a cheerful, popular rugby player, the two quickly become friends. Soon, Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn't think he stands a chance.
