Set in a color-coded caste system on a terraformed Mars, the story follows Darrow, a lowly Red miner who discovers his people are being enslaved by the elite Gold class. He undergoes a physical transformation to infiltrate the Golds and destroy their hierarchical society from within. The trilogy chronicles his rise through the military ranks and the subsequent solar-system-wide revolution to overthrow the Sovereign.
