Hell's Heart is a speculative retelling of Moby Dick, following a narrator as one of the few scattered remnants of humanity remaining. Earth is in ruins, and what’s left of humanity drifts among the stars—scraping out survival under the rule of corporations, collectives, and faiths clinging to the bones of a fallen world. Life now depends on spermaceti, a volatile substance drawn from the minds of vast Leviathans that drift through Jupiter’s storm-wracked skies.

Broke and aimless, the main character ('I') takes a position aboard the hunter-barque Pequod, chasing those monstrous riches. But the ship’s captain—brilliant, magnetic, and fanatical—pulls her into an orbit she can’t escape. As the hunt drives them deeper into Jupiter’s churning atmosphere, reality blurs, loyalties shift, and the legendary beast waits for them.
