Terlu Perna, in punishment for casting a forbidden spell, was turned into a statue and tucked away in a corner of the Great Library of Alyssium. To her surprise, Terlu finds herself waking up on an island full of magical, enchanted greenhouses, with the only other human around being a grumpy gardener who agrees to take her in. As she and the gardener grow closer, Terlu learns that the magic sustaining the greenhouses is failing, and saving them might just mean breaking the law one more time.
