Savageology

Philip José Farmer had two great literary loves, Tarzan and Doc Savage. He wrote biographies, pastiches, and authorized novels of each and continually referenced both of his heroes throughout his career. Savageology collects Farmer’s writings about Doc Savage (excluding the biography Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life and authorized novel Escape from Loki): essays, pastiches, and even a screen treatment for the second, unmade Doc Savage film. Also included in this collection are works by writers and artists who followed the Savageology trail blazed by Farmer: Iason Ragnar Bellerophon, Christopher Paul Carey, Win Scott Eckert, and R. Paul Sardanas. Additionally, the volume includes two pieces by Bronze Gazette editor Chuck Welch, a lengthy interview with Farmer by Doc Savage author and historian Will Murray, and interior and cover art by Keith Howell.
