This is the first complete version of what would become The Elfin Ship, which at that time was titled The Man in the Moon. This 60,000-word version includes the original second half of the book. The Man in the Moon himself and the moon play parts in this version, unlike the revised novel. The Man in the Moon also contains the first Langdon St. Ives steampunk story.
