Kiki’s Delivery Service

Author Eiko Kadono wrote the charming tale of a young witch for her daughter, long before it became one of the most beloved animated films of all time. Kiki's Delivery Service, the inspiration for the Studio Ghibli classic, is the heartwarming story of a magical girl who sets out on a great adventure, with her black cat Jiji in tow, to discover her special talent and find a place of her own to call home. It is a gentle, wholesome book about the importance of community, kindness and knitted belly warmers, all set against the backdrop of the bustling seaside town of Koriko.

This Folio book is charm incarnate, from the printed page edges decorated with pawprints and ribbons to its delightfully small format. The cover features Kiki flying high above Koriko, while the slipcase shows her on her broom in the forest near her childhood home. The whole package, from cover to slipcase, is blocked with gold details for good measure. Inside, artist Naffy has created six full-page colour illustrations alongside eleven sweet tailpiece vignettes.
