The Incandescent

The Incandescent is a brilliant sapphic dark academia fantasy by bestselling author Emily Tesh, winner of the Hugo and World Fantasy Awards. Doctor Walden, one of the most powerful magicians in England, spends her days marking essays and teaching chaotic students at Chetwood School. As Director of Magic, she must keep the school—both its six hundred students and its centuries-old legacy—safe, which is easier said than done when demonic threats lurk everywhere. When dark and dangerous forces from her past rear their head, Walden finds herself embroiled in a situation that threatens to destroy everything she’s worked so hard to protect. Worst of all, it seems that the most dangerous thing to the school just might be herself. The Incandescent is a 2 (Mild) on our Spice Meter. The publisher recommends this book for ages 18+.
