Reckless Omission

We lied to everyone. But I never thought he'd lie to me.

One minute I'm at my desk, designing book covers and reminding my best friend that I don't need dating apps. The next, I'm thrust into an executive boardroom full of people whose suits are saying everything their mouths aren't – I don't belong here. That is until he walks in. Perfection in a navy suit, with a seductive smirk that could make any woman weak in the knees. Shaking my hand, he holds on tight, awakening butterflies that have long been dormant. I shouldn't want to rip a man's clothes off and take him home with me, and I certainly shouldn't do it with a man who works for my CEO – hello, off limits! But with every interaction, it's impossible to stay away. Keeping us a secret is the only option. I just never thought he might be keeping secrets of his own.
