Amethysts & Alchemy

A cozy romantasy where a scientist who eats gemstones for power is forced to team up with her rival—only to discover some magic bites back.

Delaney Stone eats rocks - literally.

Each new mineral she consumes grants her temporary powers. Or, as she prefers to call them, parascientific abilities: tourmaline for speed, celestite for strength, augite for a powerful laxative effect (which she discovered the hard way).

She keeps her magic hidden beneath a white lab coat, working as a small-town pharmacist by day and secretly brewing proprietary “naturopathic” tonics by night: miracle cures for everything from memory loss to erectile dysfunction. Those tonics fund an expensive lifestyle of solo flying around the world to search for rare minerals with her emotional support pig, Topie.

It’s a quiet, predictable life - exactly how Delaney likes it...

And then her arch nemesis, Heath Spencer - owner of the overpriced, tacky rock shop across the street - comes along and upends everything.

In his typical audacious and overly-familiar fashion, Heath dangles the opportunity of a lifetime in front of Delaney's nose: an expedition to an ancient copper mine in China, rumored to hold some of the rarest and most breathtaking minerals on Earth.

It’s everything Delaney has ever wanted - and a direct threat to the carefully calculated life she’s painstakingly built to survive a chaotic and confusing world.
